We have put up with a lot of lies, aspersions and name-calling from certain Sentinel letter-writers. We’ve been accused of having Stage 4 TDS, we’ve been called lefties, pinkos, commies, anti-American…you name it. Now, we get that and we are aware that, “Believing is Seeing,” and we know Trumpers see everything through orange-tinted glasses!

But, as much as we thought the Epstein cover-up was the lowest that Trump and his cohorts could sink, we were clearly mistaken. We now read that Trump intends to “settle” a lawsuit filed against his own Department of Justice for “damaging his reputation” by legally searching Mar-a-Lago for illegally possessed classified documents, for leaking his tax returns and for impugning his good name in the Russian election interference detailed in the Mueller Report.

The way Trump intends to settle this suit is to create a $1.8 billion “Anti-Weaponization” slush fund (using our tax dollars), to compensate anyone who was similarly “victimized” by the government. It would likely be used to give around $1 million to each of the more than 1,500 Jan. 6 rioters who were arrested, then pardoned by Trump on the very first day of his second term as president! He would be virtually buying himself his own militia.

Come on, Republicans! This just can’t be OK with you, can it? Are you really willing to embrace Trump’s unending grifting of America’s treasury for ballrooms, statues and wars? Will you continue to ignore his protection of likely pedophiles, his destruction of checks and balances, his degradation of our health system just as disease epidemics are threatening to rise again?

We could go on.

Here’s our main question: Are you really so eager to support the destruction of American democracy in support of a guy who is enriching himself, but doesn’t give 2 cents about you — just so you can say you, “own the libs?”

How about you come to your senses? Call us whatever you want…but vote Democrat in November!
