NY Nights began long before this website. It began as the name of Jeff’s old rotisserie baseball team in the Greater Utica Rotisserie League (GURL). It began sometime in the 80’s and lasted until sometime around the time people starting drafting online and having websites calculate the stats.

The New York Nights logo was designed by Mark Palmer, Joan’s brother. His creation made it onto family hats, sweatshirts, and mouse pads as gifts. It has now found a second life as the home-field banner for Jeff and Joan’s letters, running jokes, published dispatches, and box-score-worthy adventures in the opinion pages.

Special thanks to Richard Goldman, whose Book of Richard verses helped shape the site’s taglines and clubhouse language. Special thanks to Josh Ganeles, my brother who absolutely understood the assignment, and learned how to navigate the back end of a website in order to help out.
