Trumpists are Republicans in name only

Now that we know for sure that the SCOTUS majority is in lockstep with Donald J. Trump’s assault on American democracy, we ask New York Republicans to re-consider their frequently mentioned determination to never vote for a Democrat!

We would argue that Trump and his candidates are not really Republicans at all, they are strictly Trumpists! We actually can remember when Republicans stood for fiscal responsibility, for respecting our military, for less government intervention and for the rule of law. Yet, under these Trumpists our national debt has soared to 40 trillion dollars, our sailors are left forgotten on an aircraft carrier for 250 days as supplies run out, our military is ordered into America’s streets and our laws are continually ignored, all so Trump can evade justice, remain in power and unconstitutionally enrich himself. That doesn’t sound like Republican values to us.

Come on, New York Republicans, don’t be afraid to come out and vote for Democrats this November. We can always have debates about policy differences, but these Trumpists are leading us into a plutocratic dictatorship, under the guise of Republicanism. That’s not the America that any of us envisioned…and that’s forever!
