American people DO have voice in Scalia’s successor
It took Mitch McConnell and his cronies about an hour to make it clear that this Republican Senate would honor Justice Antonin Scalia, a constitutional scholar, by refusing to exercise their constitutional duty to confirm a presidential nominee to replace him.
Why? Because, “The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court justice.”
Well, Mitch, we DO have that voice. We gained it by voting President Obama in for a second term that’s not yet over! You voted to confirm Justice Kennedy during President Reagan’s final year by a 97-0 vote, in a Democrat-controlled Senate.
So stop being such a whining hypocrite and follow the Constitution, that document Republicans claim to revere beyond all else. Maybe that would be a good way to honor your fallen hero.
