Voters should remember Stefanik and Tenney’s inaction on Epstein bill

President Donald Trump has been quite busy creating diversions from the Epstein Files release vote this week.

Whether it was Jimmy Kimmel, the United Nation’s “escalatorgate,” indicting James Comey, having Secretary of State Pete Hegseth convene a sudden meeting of all our top military officers for no apparent reason, Trump has gone all out to keep the main stream media from talking about Epstein.

Word is also out that he is pressuring three female Republican lawmakers — Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, of Georgia; Nancy Mace, of North Carolina; and Lauren Boebert, of Colorado, to rescind their promised support for a bill to release the files. Their votes are needed for a majority.

Now, as a couple of Central New Yorkers, we would like to know why Reps. Elise Stefanik, R-21, Schuylerville, and Claudia Tenney, R-22, Canandaigua, are not loud advocates for releasing these files!

There may be strong evidence that President Trump joined with his “best friend” Jeffrey Epstein in the abuse of young women or girls, some who may have been below legal age at the time.

Aren’t you interested in learning the truth about that, Reps. Stefanik and Tenney? Do you not have any young women in your lives or in your constituencies who may be looking to you for some leadership?

Sadly, we know well why our two female Central New York representatives are not supporting Epstein’s victims? Is it because they are afraid to do the right thing, for fear of upsetting their “dear leader?”

Yet their votes to release the files could make a big difference!

We consider their turning their backs on these victims to be an act of supreme cowardice, an action that is unworthy of anyone claiming to “lead” and one that should be remembered by all voters, especially young women next Election Day.

In fact, that goes for every New York State representative — Republican or Democrat, male or female! How can they willfully choose to not even examine any possible evidence of abuse?

How could they ever look their daughters in the eye?
