Iran
To those who say that we went to war with Iran without a plan, we beg to differ. Maybe we’re getting too cynical, but our take is that this was a plan cooked up by Netanyahu, sold (easily) to Trump and financed by Bin Salman and the rest of the obscenely petro-rich Mideast countries that felt threatened by Iran.
Bibi probably figured he’d be hailed as a hero for taking out Iran’s despicable leadership and would no longer be at risk of being voted out and arrested for bribery. Trump, besides getting more petro-dollars, needed a major distraction. He was hearing the Epstein drumbeat get louder as it became crystal clear that the Republicans had breathlessly subpoenaed the wrong president and first lady. Money is nothing to Bin Salman, who basically rented out the Israeli and American militaries to do his dirty work. So these three basically sped up the demise of a detestable 86 year-old religious fanatic with a cancer diagnosis. The future of the Iranian people did not seem to be a big part of their plans.
Yet, what really turns our stomachs is listening to Trump talk so reverentially about the American soldiers who have already lost their lives in “Operation Epstein Fury”, reminding us all how loss of life is the “cost of war”! Spare us the phony piety! Aren’t these the same poor souls that he has mocked as “losers and suckers”? Yes, they are.
Trump never does anything without getting something in return. Maybe he figures that, if the war drags out long enough, he will have an excuse to cancel the midterm elections. Yes, we certainly went to war with a plan. Just not a plan based on the future welfare of the people of America or Iran.
